The officer and another arriving officer returned fire, striking Threlkeld. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police reported that neither officer suffered significant physical injuries. The officer-involved shooting is being investigated separately by the Kenosha Racine Area Investigative Team, with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office leading that inquiry.
