Bobby Theriot’s life was marked by devotion to family, decades of honest work and a deep appreciation for the traditions and simple pleasures that brought people together. To those who knew him, he was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose memory will endure.
Robert Anthony “Bobby” Theriot, a longtime member of the Houma, Louisiana, community and a familiar figure in the grocery and seafood industry, died September 18, 2026. He was born January 7, 1943, in Houma to Clarice and Walton Theriot.
For 49 years, Bobby devoted himself to the grocery and seafood business, managing D&T Seafood and Market with passion and integrity. His professional life reflected a commitment to his work and the people he served.
Away from business, Bobby found happiness in time with those close to him and in traditions he cherished. He enjoyed Sunday visits to the casinos and celebrating Mardi Gras. He was also a past king of the Terranians, an honor that reflected his connection to the community and its celebrations. Friends also remembered him as the namesake of a float, a testament to the affection held for him.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Kate Bonvillain Theriot; daughter Tammy Theriot Trahan and her husband, Murphy; grandchildren Marah and Robert Trahan; brothers Jerome Theriot and Micky Theriot; and sister Patricia Theriot Cressonie and her husband, Whitney. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kevin Theriot, and his parents.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Thursday, September 24, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
Bobby’s legacy lives on through his family, friendships, work and the many memories created over his 83 years.
